My Pixel 7 hits 15% battery by 4pm and the modem drops calls in my own kitchen. The 10 Pro fixes both plus the camera I use daily for my plant shop's social posts. $999 is real money for a phone I did not plan to replace this year, but the shop posts are becoming my main marketing channel. Trade-in would be maybe $120.
Not enough approvals yetThe global approval desk
A real purchase. A little uncertainty. Help with a decision in a category you know.
Not enough approvals yetI hike twice a month and my best shots always come from a friend who brings a drone. The Mini 5 Pro is sub-249g so it needs no registration in most places I hike, has a 1-inch sensor now, and 40+ minutes of flight time. It is $759 with the standard battery, $959 in the package I would actually want. This is pure hobby money, so I want a sanity check from people who own one: does it leave the bag after the first month?
Not enough approvals yetI walk about 8k steps daily for commute and lunch breaks, roughly 200km a month, and my current pair is worn smooth at 700km. The Cloudmonster 3 fits my wide forefoot and the big foam works for pavement. $189 is more than I usually spend on shoes but cost-per-km works out under 20 cents if they last like my last pair. Not chasing a trend, I walked in these at a store and the fit was immediately right.
Purchase approvedMy partner and I film short travel vlogs two or three weekends a month. Right now one of us films while the other lives the moment, and half the shots miss. A 360 camera means one of us can reframe later and we both stay in the footage. The X5 is $549.99 with the better low-light sensor and replaceable lenses. We would sell the action cam we barely use to offset about $150.
Purchase approvedI walk about an hour every day and love the idea of hands-free photos of my kid and podcasts without earbuds. The Gen 2 has better battery and camera. They cost $379 which is a lot for something that is partly a fashion item, and I already own good earbuds and take photos on my phone. Honest question: do these get daily use or do they end up in a drawer after month two?
Purchase not allowedI use my AirPods Pro 2 for about two hours every day on the train and for calls. They still work fine and get firmware updates, but the Pro 3 claims twice the battery life in ANC mode, a much better heart-rate sensor, and the live translation feature I would genuinely use at work. It is $249 and my rational side says the Pro 2 covers everything, so I want an outside verdict before I talk myself into it.
Purchase approvedThe approval hall: every public purchase request
The approval hall gathers every published purchase request on the site: each one has passed AI content review, was submitted as “public jury” by its requester, and is visible to every visitor including search engines. Each card shows the product photo (or a category placeholder), the category, the title, the declared price, a summary of the reason, the current approval status, the number of valid votes and the requester’s anonymous nickname.
Open any request and you get the full picture: why the item is wanted, what related items are already owned, budget notes, a world map of where the votes come from, and every piece of moderated written advice. Understanding one request usually takes about a minute — and that minute is often enough to reach a verdict.
How to use the three sort orders
- Newest requests (default): reverse chronological order, best for following new submissions as they arrive.
- Fewest votes on this page: puts the least-voted requests of the current page first, ideal if you want to help quiet requests reach quorum.
- Most votes on this page: surfaces the best-discussed requests, where reasons tend to be thorough and the debate is worth reading.
- Sorting applies within the current page and is recomputed when you paginate. Filters (keyword and sort) are reflected in the URL, so any view can be bookmarked or shared.
Search covers public content only
The search box matches both the title and the reason text of a request. Brand names, model numbers and scenario keywords all work — try “noise cancelling”, “treadmill” or “monitor”. Friends-only requests, requests awaiting AI review and rejected requests never appear in search results and are not indexed by search engines.
The 12 approval reason tags, explained
Every vote must include at least one reason tag. They are the shared vocabulary of BuyPass discussions and the building blocks of every AI brief:
- Genuine need: A concrete, upcoming need that current belongings cannot cover.
- Daily use: High expected frequency, which spreads the per-use cost thin.
- Within budget: The price fits the requester’s stated, affordable budget.
- Useful upgrade: A clear functional, efficiency or experience gain over what is owned.
- Already covered: Something already owned covers the same need; a second unit adds little.
- Over budget: The price is clearly out of range or conflicts with the stated budget.
- Low use: No clear use case or frequency; likely to sit unused after purchase.
- Repair first: The current item can still do the job after a repair or service.
- More context: Key details are missing (model, frequency, what is owned); ask first.
- Try first: Borrow, rent or buy an entry-level version to validate the need.
- Alternative: A cheaper, better-fitting or more sustainable alternative exists.
- Other: None of the tags fit exactly — explain in the written advice instead.
Approval etiquette and content boundaries
Judge the reason, not the person. Focus on use case, frequency, budget and alternatives; avoid mockery or personal attacks. The following never pass AI review and are never published: illegal trade, high-risk financial speculation, adult goods, weapons, medical diagnosis, hate or harassment. Use the report link at the bottom of a request page if you see violations.
What happens after you vote
Your choice is counted into the request’s result immediately. Written advice is published after passing AI content review and may be cited in the AI approval brief, which will show your nickname and approximate network region. You can re-vote at any time to overwrite your previous choice, or withdraw it — the server keeps your latest recorded action, and withdrawing does not revive an older vote.
A 60-second checklist for reading any request
- Title and price first: what is it, how much, in which currency.
- Read “why I want it”: is the use case concrete, does the frequency ring true?
- Check “already own” and “budget context”: is there a duplicate, does the budget hold together?
- Glance at the approval map: do regions agree, and where do they split?
- Read the two most informative pieces of advice — then cast your vote.
From browsing to judging: pick your lane
The hall is at its best when you judge where you already have experience. Filter to a category you use daily — headphones, luggage, kitchenware — and your verdicts carry real information. Over a few visits you will notice patterns: requests with specific use cases collect thoughtful advice; vague ones collect requests for more context. That feedback loop, repeated thousands of times, is what makes the hall worth reading even when you are not voting.
- New here? Sort by “fewest votes” and help quiet requests reach quorum.
- Short on time? The “most votes” sort surfaces the richest debates.
- Looking for something specific? Search matches titles and reasons directly.
What the hall deliberately does not show
Friends-only requests never touch the hall. Requests awaiting AI review are invisible until they pass, rejected ones never appear, and withdrawn requests leave the listings. Everything you do see has passed content safety review — what the hall shows is exactly what this community is willing to face in public, nothing more.
- No private requests, ever — not even as placeholders.
- No edited content: the site never rewrites a requester’s words.
- No ranking by score — cards are requests, not ratings.
Frequently asked questions about BuyPass
How do I cast my first vote?
Pick a category you know, open a request, read the reason and the “already own” notes, choose approve or reject, tick at least one reason tag, optionally add a sentence of advice, and submit. No account needed at any step.
Do I have to write advice text?
No. Reason tags are required; written advice is optional. But even one sentence — “wait for a sale”, “check your desk depth first” — genuinely helps the requester.
Can I change my vote later?
Yes. Submit a new vote to overwrite the old one, or withdraw it. The server’s latest recorded action wins for your identity, and withdrawing does not resurrect an earlier vote.
Why do some requests finish with only 3 votes?
Friends-only requests default to a quorum of 3 valid identities, while public requests default to 10. The quorum is fixed by the rules chosen when the request was created.
How many votes can one person cast?
Each linked identity counts one vote per request version. Linking several browsers to one identity still counts as a single vote, and nobody can vote on their own request.
Why does the page show no requests at all?
The site may be newly launched with few public requests, or your search keyword may be too narrow. Clear the filters to browse all of the latest requests.
Are these requests real?
The platform performs no identity verification and cannot verify every submission. All public content passes AI safety review, and commercial promotion and affiliate kickbacks are prohibited by the rules — treat it as you would any online community and judge for yourself.
Can I just browse without voting?
Of course. Browsing requires nothing at all. But every vote genuinely changes a request’s outcome, so when you find a request you relate to, casting one takes less than a minute.
Is request content edited by the site?
No. The site and the AI only decide public versus not-public; they never rewrite a requester’s words. Revisions come from the requester and create a new version.
Why do I see several requests for the same product?
Because verdicts are personal. Different people request the same product with different reasons, budgets and outcomes — the product page exists precisely to lay those side by side.
How do I report a request that slipped through?
Open the request and use the report link at the bottom of the page. Reports go to independent admin moderation, separate from the automated AI review.
